SCHOOL SAFETY

I read a article on this cnn news for kids web sight about safety around campus on a school. People are going to such extremes that they are buying metal detecters, cameras that detect a person climbing a fence, ligering around a window or even walking down an alley late at night. Will this help any? The article states that it most likely will help a little bit, but not much. It is rediculouse that kids have to walk down a street these days and have to look behind them to make sure that no one is following them. That is in the big schoold, what happens to us when the gun men finally move to smaller schools? What happens when kids at a smaller school, who prcatice something like a break in but have never really even thought that it could happen to them, and it all of a sudden does? How will we respond? With fear or with laughter thinking that it is just a joke? I am not sure what is going to happen, until it does.
